• I’m unable to toggle between Visual mode and text mode in my editor, when the plugin is activated.

Is there a workaround for this?

Please ensure your core WordPress installation, your WordPress theme, and all plugins are up to date.

How much testing have you done to confirm PowerPress is causing this problem with the editor? This is the first instance I’ve heard of this happening. This diagnostic guide has instructions to help determine what may be the source of the problem:

    Hi Shawn,

Thanks for your response. The site was working fine until we added the plugin. Once the plugin was activated, we were unable to toggle between Visual and Text mode in the editor.

I debugged it by deactivating the plugin and retrying. With the plugin deactivated it works fine. Once I reactivated the plugin we once again lost the ability to toggle in the editor.

And you’ve ensured that all of your WordPress stuff is up to date?

Yes, all plugins and WP are up to date.

    Thanks for clarifying that.

What is the exact symptom? You said you can’t switch between Visual and Text editors. Is it stuck on one and you can’t switch (if so, which one?)? Or is it that either the Visual or Text toggles simply aren’t there?

It’s stuck at whatever it was at when I go in to edit a post/page.
If it was on “text” it stays on text, if it was in “Visual” it stays on visual.

If i deactivate the plugin, I can go in and toggle over, then re-activate the plugin and it will remain where I put it.

I guess I can work with it like this, but I’m worried that there may be other issues that I’m not seeing.

I’ve asked the Blubrry dev team to look at your situation. A reply will be posted here as soon as I hear something back.

    Hello @daveolsen,

We are not having this issue when switching between the styled editor and the text view in WordPress post edit screens. This is not to say PowerPress is not the issue, but more than likely I would be suspect of caching causing the issue.

Can you tell me what plugins and other services you have in place to help with caching, performance or security? For example, securi plugin, WP Super cache plugin, CloudFlare, etc… Also, a note where you are hosting your website would be helpful as well to help us diagnose the issue.

    Thanks,
    Angelo
