Can't switch from text to visual and can't upload photos in WordPress 3.5

  • Since switching to 3.5, I can’t add photos (they simply don’t appear after I hit “insert into post”) and I can’t switch from the text mode to the visual mode.

    So far I’ve tried . . .
    1) deactivating all the plugins
    2) clearing my browser’s cache
    3) updating my theme (Twenty-Ten)
    4) changing my theme to Twenty-Eleven

  • AJ, I have a handful of sites, and I have the same problem on Google Chrome. However, all except for one of my sites allows me to switch b/t visual and text on Internet Explorer- HATE using that browser though!

    I’ve been using Firefox as my browser. I’ve considered downloading Google Chrome, but that doesn’t sound like it helps.

    It looks like your site is using Super Cache – so make sure you’ve cleared that on your site/server.

    Just reinstalled wordpress 3.5 by clicking reinstall under updates (under your dashboard), and all of my sites work on Internet Explorer now lol. I don’t know if you can stand that 1990s browser or not though! haha.

    How do you clear Super Cache? I’ve deactivated the WP Super Cache plug-in. Does that clear it?

    Sorry, I’m not very techy. ??

    My page editing only allows me to do text. Visual is not available at all. I do not write html so cannot do ANYTHING on my site! Help!

    Advanced Custom Fields can sometimes trigger this behavior, not sure why. But I deactivated all plugins then logged in with IE9, once I edit a post and have the visual editor selected, I can then go back and use Firefox or Chrome.
