Since the newest Update, the Form always shows the spam error message. I did a lot of troubleshooting and was able to find the problem, but I couldn’t solve it.

I noticed that all Forms are tagged as Spam in Flamingo, and every reCAPTCHA response token is empty. My reCAPTCHA admin panel shows that the number of requests has dropped from 500+ daily requests to less than 10 after I’ve installed the update and the “contactform” action had no requests but Flamingo registered 25 messages. So I’m assuming that reCAPTCHA isn’t working, even though the banner is shown.

In the integration panel it says that reCAPTCHA is activated, the Keys are both correct.

Can anyone tell me how to solve this issue?

What other plugins and theme do you use on the site?

I use the avada theme and the following plugins:

    • Application Passwords
    • Avada Builder & Core
    • CF7 Multilingual
    • CF Entries
    • Integration for Contact Form 7 and Salesforce
    • GDPR Cookie Consent
    • Cool Timeline
    • Distributor
    • Insert PHP Code Snippet
    • OptinMonster
    • Smush Pro
    • SVG Support
    • WP Mail SMTP
    • WPML Media, Multilingual CMS & String Translation
    • WPMU DEV Dashboard
    • Yoast SEO

I have the same problem. No way to send an email via a mobile client. From an PC it seems to work.

I there a easy way to stop the recaptcha? It is better to get spam, than to get no messages anymore.

One thing that may work is to downgrade from reCAPTCHA v3 to v2, but that’s not optimal (worse UX) and a workaround is needed since v2 is no longer supported by cf7

Try switching to the default theme and deactivating all plugins excluding Contact Form 7, WP Mail SMTP, and Yoast SEO

Why you are advised to deactivate plugins and switch to the default theme.

It seems, that in my case it was a caching problem. After stopping the WordPress caching and deleting the files in content/cache everything is working fine again.

I was able to solve it – it was a really stupid error. Someone from my company created a redirect for /contact , this affected the /contact-form directory as well. Our WP adress and Site adress are different, I was only able to see the error message when I ran it on the same adress
