Can't stop spammy trackbacks

    I am suddenly getting a lot of spammy trackbacks to one of my posts and I can’t seem to block them. I’ve disabled trackbacks in the settings and I’ve run the script that’s supposed to disable trackbacks on existing posts, but still they come.

    Can anyone offer a suggestion for something I’ve not tried (other than meditation)?

  • Well, might check the specific post and make sure trackbacks are disabled on it.

    How can I turn that off for ALL posts? I already ran a script like this…

    UPDATE wp_posts SET ping_status='closed' WHERE post_status = 'publish' AND post_type = 'post';

    I thought that would be enough.

    That should do it. Might just check the post in the editor anyway too see if it’s unchecked.
