• Hi!

I am a newbie using WP 5.1.1 with the Twenty Nineteen theme.

I installed the Classic Editor Plugin. And it worked.

Now, I want to switch to the New (Gutenberg) Editor and I can’t.

In the 2019 Theme, Settings > Writing shows nothing about the Editor. So, I made the Plugin not active. But, it still is the active Editor. Can’t stop it!

    Thank you!

  • This is the only thing I can think of…

Activate the Classic Editor plugin again and look again at the settings pages in ‘Writing’…

You might need to refresh the page… maybe a few times and maybe you’ll need to flush your web browser’s cache.

Now, set that thing to default to the new Block Editor (Gutenberg). You should optionally be allowed to set both editors to be selectable.

    Ain’t that cool???

Let us know if that doesn’t work.

Also, check your user profile and make sure the box to disable the visual editor is NOT checked.

    Hi!

In Profile, Disable Visual Editor was unchecked.

I cleared Cache. Now, Settings > Writing does show Editor options. I selected Blog Editor as default w/ no changes allowed. And, I saved changes. Now Selecting Editor does not show in Edit Post.

I cleared Cache and deactivated the Classic Editor Plugin. Logged out; logged in.

Classic Editor is still running; no way to change!
