    Hey there,

    I am using:

    WordPress 3.8
    BackWPup 3.1.1
    PHP-Version 5.3.26
    MySQL-Version 5.1.36
    cURL-Version 7.21.0
    cURL-SSL-Version OpenSSL/1.0.1e

on a site working with SSL. When starting a job in the plugin Backwpup the error “SSL certificate problem, verify that the CA cert is OK. Details: error:14090086:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed” occurs.

So nothing will be backuped. Since I use the plugin on all my other sites just working fine I would really want to continue using it. Who may help? Thanks in advance.

  • I will update the cacert.pem with the next bugix release.

Hi, do you know when this bugfix release is going to be published.
Wiyhout the code above the error still exists.

Activating the mini plugin solved the problem with the SSL certificate error when running a backup really great.

    Thank you for providing that.

When I did activate the plugin I received an error:
Error when activating: The plugin generated 4 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin.

Do you have any idea what might fix the error?

    Thank you very much,

    Docfxit

We have created the Plugin for download. https://marketpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/backwpup-disable-ssl-verify.zip
Try if that works without that message.

    Hi Daniel,

That worked great with no errors.

Thank you very much for fixing that.

    That’s super,

    Docfxit

I get this error even after network activating the plugin you provided 2 comments above:

The HTTP response test get an error “SSL certificate problem, verify that the CA cert is OK. Details: error:14090086:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed”

With Plugin did you have activated this for local ssl verify or the other. And what did you would to solve ?

    Has not been solved.

I’m not sure what you’re asking from, “With Plugin did you have activated this for local ssl verify or the other?”

I have the WordPress HTTPS plugin active if that’s what you’re asking about.

My apologies. The HTTPS plugin was generating dozens of WP_DEBUG wpdb::prepare messages. After deactivating that plugin (and thus no more WP_DEBUG messages), BackWPup worked correctly without any additional SSL plugin (but I also didn’t have SSL Login or SSL Admin on either). tyvm.

    Hello all,

    I just got the dreaded:

Dropbox API: (59) Unknown cipher in list: ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384:ECDHE-RSA-AES128-GCM-SHA256:ECDHE-RSA-AES256-SHA384:ECDHE-RSA-AES128-SHA256:ECDHE-RSA-AES256-SHA:ECDHE-RSA-AES128-SHA:ECDHE-RSA-RC4-SHA:DHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384:DHE-RSA-AES128-GCM-SHA256:DHE-RSA-AES256-

And I have installed Daniel`s SSL-plugin as well. Can anyone help?

This is being run on WP4 and with BackWPUp Pro 3.1.2

Tried on another install now also, this time also on WP 4 and on the same server, trying to store to Dropbox.

I am still getting the same Unknown cipher-error, even after applying the disable-local-ssl plugin.
This used to work on earlier WP-versions…

    Hi Daniel,

I have tried to do this on a website I am working on by installing and activating the ssl mini plugin, however, I still get the error when I try to backup to a folder. What do you think the problem could be?
