• in the Control Panel > Reading Settings
For each article in a feed, show: Summary or Full Text!

Summary doesn’t seem to be working.
the theme is displaying the full text of all posts, stacking them above each other in the category.

    any opinions??
    thanks

  • That setting is for your RSS feed. Try using the <!--more--> tag in your posts to limit the post display on everything but the single post pages.

    Thanks Esmi,
but the previous theme I had used to limit my posts to a default of 55 words, then generates the “more” link automatically..

I thought it was a default thing in wordpress..
never used the <!–more–> before, as it’s proven to be very ineffective to me, and time consuming..

any other suggestions? a plugin maybe? or some hidden setting in administration panel?
    Thanks ??

you’ll need to change the function the_content() in index.php to the_excerpt() to show the summary.

    Thanks Nazieb ??
    I’ll give it a try.
in the meantime, how is everything going with Your facebook theme update?
do we expect to see something soon?

I hope you’ll be able to fix that URL “#” thingy out, it messes the links.. especially who used parked and pointed domains.
Also, if you could try to fix the incompatibility with Lightbox 2 Plugin ??

apart from that, you’re doing a GREAT JOB!
    thumbs up ??

Please tell me, where I should change the code to show Summary of Posts when viewing all posts of some Category.

    Thank you!

but i can’t find _content() function in the theme that i am using right now. so what else can i do?

I have the same problem. There must be a bug cause the Arunja-x Read More is always visible even if there is nothing more to read.
