Under Yoast->Search Appearance and then General tab, for “Homepage and Posts page”, I’m seeing this message:

You can determine the title and description for the homepage by editing the homepage itself.

This is only supposed to occur if the homepage is set to static; however, it is set to recent posts.

    How to fix?

Just updated to 19.9 and the problem still remains.

I have figured out the issue.

A maintenance mode plugin updated and changed the way it handles things, now creating a static maintenance page as the homepage only for logged out users.

    Yoast was detecting that.
