Can’t Set Event

Getting the following error on multiple sites:
“Companion Auto Update was not able to set the event for sending you emails, please re-activate the plugin in order to set the event.”
Have deactivated and reactivated with no change. Have also uninstalled and reinstalled for good measure. Error stays consistent no matter what.
Not sure what to do here. Please advise.
