    Hi

The facebook feed on this site broke, showing the error:
Error: (#4) Application request limit reached

I’ve updated the plugin and still have the same problem.
I’ve tried changing the settings to use my own access token, and followed the instructions here:
    https://smashballoon.com/custom-facebook-feed/page-token/

However, it now gives me this error:
Error: (#10) To use ‘Page Public Content Access’, your use of this endpoint must be reviewed and approved by Facebook.

Do I actually have to submit this for review or is there a setting in the app settings somewhere that i need to change?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Iveale,

There’s no need to submit your app for review. If you’re receiving that error then could you check the following:

    1) That you are the admin of the Facebook page you’re trying to display posts from
    2) That the app is in “Development” mode and not “Live”
    3) That you selected the correct app and Facebook page in steps 14 and 15 of those directions

Please let me know whether that helps to resolve the issue, or if you have any further questions at all.

Hi, I’ve got exactly the same problem – and yes, I AM the FB page admin, and yes, the app is in Development mode and yes, I selected the correct app and FB page. I’ve done this multiple times – it just doesn’t work. The site in question is running the free version of the app. I even tried reverting to NOT using the token – to no avail. If I can’t fix it soon we’ll be switching to another app. This is a busy restaurant site. (My sites running the paid version of the app – they have different requirements – are so far working fine without the token, and I’m certainly not going to try to “fix” them when they’re not broken!!)

Further to the above, the site is bistrohenry.com . And the feed and access token work just fine on your demo site. Even with all other plugins turned off, it doesn’t work on bistrohenry.com though.

    Hi Paddy,

Sorry for the frustration. In order to help resolve this for you could you submit a support ticket here and include your “System Info” from the plugin? That will allow us to see the token you’re using and help us to determine what the problem is.

Many thanks, and apologies again for the issue. It’s being caused by Facebook drastically lowering their API connection limits without warning recently.

Hi John – I did submit a ticket last night with all the details. The weird thing is that if you go to Facebook’s info on rate limiting it says “These limits apply to calls made using any access token other than a page access token.” So they’ve definitely changed something. I have a total of 4 different FB plugins working on various clients’ sites and NONE of them are working this morning – except the pro version of your plugin (thankfully – that’s on the sites that most need/want FB feeds). Doesn’t seem to matter whether they have access tokens or not.

    Hi Paddy,

Facebook are changing things all the time at the moment unfortunately and aren’t updating their docs very quickly to reflect changes, which means that developers tend to find out the hard way. As we’re communicating within the ticket you submitted then please ask any further questions there so that we can keep correspondence in one place.

    Many thanks,

    John

Just to update on my original issue:

Smashballoon helped by getting me to check that:

    1) That you are the admin of the Facebook page you’re trying to display posts from
    2) That the app is in “Development” mode and not “Live”
    3) That you selected the correct app and Facebook page in steps 14 and 15 of those directions

All of these things were set correctly, but in my case the Facebook page ID in the plugin settings was incorrect. I updated that and it worked.

    Thanks for the help guys!
