Can’t set a Posts Page

  • When I attempt to set a Posts page, the Settings -> Reading page won’t save the selection. I’ve tried several times, and while it seems to be doing something, when the page refreshes after supposedly saving, it unsets the Posts page back to “Select”. Please help!

    There is likely a theme or plugin conflict. Isolate the cause by selectively deactivating plugins and swapping themes until you can save your selection.

    As a workaround to save the value, determine the page’s ID from its edit screen URL (post= query string). Get into phpMyAdmin and set the “page_for_posts” option value to that ID (in the options table). Altering the DB this way can be very risky if you don’t know what you’re doing. We recommend backing up the table or the entire DB before trying to make changes this way.
