    Hi,

    In my WP3.9 installation, Subscribe2 plugin uses [email protected] to send out emails. And I get those emails bounced back with the error “SMTP said 553 FROM address not verified”.

    I’m wondering if there is any way to tell this plugin to use my admin email ID. I have used other plugins which correctly uses my WordPress admin user email ID as the sender ID.

    Any thoughts?

  • @venkatnagappan,

    The sender for Subscribe2 is set on the Subscribe2->Settings page under the Email Settings tab where is says “Send Email From:” and there is a drop down list.

    In the drop down it will list “Post Author”, the name of your blog and then all administrator level users. It is best to choose an administrator level user with the correct email address – create a new user if needed.

    @mattyrob,

    Thanks Mattyrob. I have tried all the options in that dropdown. Doesn’t make any difference. No matter what I choose, it still sends email using [email protected]

    I had setup email forwarding from apache to my email id. So I get bounced, undelivered email from Mail Delivery Subsystem.

    @venkatnagappan,

    WordPress creates an email when sending notifications about things like comments. I presume if you are using email forwarding that you don’t have a real on-domain email address then. I would recommend that you create one.

    I managed to sort the issue by configuring Postfix email server to do address rewriting for me.

    Thanks.

    @venkatnagappan,

    That approach would work just as well and also avoid the [email protected] email address being used also I imagine.
