I have this form and about 8 others on another contact page within the site. They all worked perfectly as far back as September/October last year. Then I noticed they had stopped working with the error:

There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later.

This message is displayed when you submit the form and it has an orange border. I then found out that reCAPTCHA had been upgraded to v3 so I thought I would upgrade and start using that. I also hoped it might fix my issue. It didn’t. I’ve followed the page that explains how to set up the new version of reCAPTCHA: https://contactform7.com/recaptcha/

I’ve changed the site key and secret key. Can’t figure out what the error is. The reCAPTCHA is connected to my email address and linked to that domain.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

The orange error border indicates reCAPTCHA v3 is not working correctly on your site.

See Contact Form 7 5.1.1 – theme needs to properly loads JavaScript in the footer area of each page.

Switch temporarily (nothing will be lost when you switch back) to a WP default theme to see if the problem goes away.

If this fixes the problem & you can’t get your theme fixed, you might try using Contact Form 7 – reCaptcha v2 in addition to Contact Form 7. Once installed and configured it offers the same reCaptcha functionality you are used to in previous versions of Contact Form 7 (recommended by CF7 plugin author).

I have the same error and did change the theme to default, remove the recaptcha and replace it with recaptcha v2 still the same thing is happening.

I did try and go back to reCAPTCHA 2 but it didn’t resolve it. It appears that I was using multiple form plugins too which can cause an SMTP issue. I removed the ones I wasn’t using as I saw the plugin called pirate forms uses a different SMTP which seemed to be causing the issue. Disabling plugins that I wasn’t using and removing pirate forms sorted it. All working now.

Just out of interest, when you get errors on the screen like this, are there any places that log more detailed errors? Even Windows with it’s rubbish errors, write to the event viewer which generally holds more details that provided on screen.
