On February this year I decided to use a SMTP plugin called WP Mail SMPT because I wanted to use a google mail to send mails from my server.

I set up everything the way it was supposed to be in plugin like setting “Mailer” as google and credentials (api and key) to be able to accomplish that. This worked and is working right now.

    What’s the problem then ?

I wanted things to be the way they were and stop sending from Google via smtp and send mails from server again. I found out that unistalling plugin didn’t help. Every test on every single plugin I try will fail.

I don’t know what to do, and performing a clean installation of wordpress isn’t an option right now.

I tried also to select the option phpMailer from this plugin and send test mails but results were the same.

I think WP Mail SMPT messed up something else. I tried unistalling all smtp plugin related too, there is none of them right now and still the same.

Is there a way to restore this email module coming on WP to normal ?

    Thanks everyone and stay safe

  • Hi @massi93,

If there any chance, you’ve changed your Gmail password or turned on two-factor authentication? Is there any notice on your dashboard about email delivery error? Could you please try sending a test email (under WP Mail SMTP > Email Test) and share the details from that here?

    Thanks!

Hi @massi93 – We haven’t heard from you in about a week, so I’m going to go ahead and mark this ticket resolved. If you still have questions, though, please feel welcome to continue the conversation.
