• New to wordpress – but for some reason when i set a ‘static’ home page, the site crashes on most pages. there is one page that i can set as home page that actually works, and this is the ‘shop’ page from woocommerce, but every other page causes browser to spin. Site works fine using latest posts as homepage, but this isn’t what i’m wanting. Any help would be great!

So far what I know – Only the shop page from woocommerce works as a homepage… Anything else crashes. I’ve tried multiple themes. I’ve trashed and rebuilt WordPress multiple times. My Site URL settings are correct. Modifying Permalinks hasn’t helped. If I select default and save, it goes back to “custom”. I can’t actually get it to modify. If setting homepage to static other than the “shop” page, I get endless redirects error. It is something relating to index.php page. If I remove php config, I do see the index.php php code, so apache seems to be working as expected. I’m at a loss.

This is not a hosted site. I am hosting this in amazon myself. From my troubleshooting issues is somewhere in WordPress, but I don’t know where to go. The common resolutions online regarding the too many redirect errors I’ve tried.

    Please Help!

You may have a faulty plugin. I suggest you disable plugins one by one and check each time if the error goes away.

    Have backups…Of course.
