    hello all.
I am BRAND new to wordpress and thought that it would simplify creating my site as I am not a coder.
I’ve managed to get myself up an running and on the advice from many forum threads have created a child theme for twenty ten.
Problem is that I can no longer select a custom header image. How to I put my image as the header instead of the defaults?
I have searched through most of the forum threads that I can find about this and tried modifying the functions.php and the header.php, but no luck yet.
Any help would be much appreciated – and if your answer could be as specific as possible (ie – for someone who knows very little) I’d appreciate it.

  • Please go to “Manage Themes” in your admin panel. Then click on “Header” link. You can upload your desired image over there.
You also can select “Random” to Show a different image on each page for this theme.

OMG! Thank you thank you thank you!
Can’t believe that it was something so simple after copy and editing code forever!!!

I’ll definitely mark this as resolved!
