Can’t select database?

    Hi there! I’ve been trying to install wp 2.3 and just can’t get it done.

    This is what I get when I acces the install.php:

    “Can’t select database

    We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and password is okay) but not able to select the xxx_wp1 database.”

    The database is there, it is typed correctly (username_wp1) and so on. What am I doing wrong?

    I truly am an idiot.. The problem was that after adding a database and adding a user, I didn’t add the user IN the database…

    Well, hopefully this may help someone else! ??

    i’d LOVE to know how to do that! i dont’ know where the database even is (i have had this up and running before on my first try, then something went wrong, so i deleted everything and tried again). I keep getting the same error message, and no matter how much searching i do on these forms, i just can’t find out where my database is, what kind of a file it is, or anything. please help!
