Can’t select database

    I am getting the famous “Can’t select database” on a new installation.

    I have read many many posts in this forum.. but still can’t find my error.

    I “think” the problem my be the permissions, but I can not find anywhere to look at or change those.

    Can someone point me there.. or to some other clues?

  • the error usually means the db name is incorrect in wp-config.php

    After MySQL is installed, is there a default name for the database? If that has been forgotten, can something be types at the command line to verify the database names(s)?
