• I’ve assigned the database with a name, password and a user and I’ve put all of that into the config file, but now I gte this:

    “Can’t select database

We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and password is okay) but not able to select the mrsalek_blog database.

    * Are you sure it exists?
    * On some systems the name of your database is prefixed with your username, so it would be like username_wordpress. Could that be the problem?

If you don’t know how to setup a database you should contact your host. If all else fails you may find help at the WordPress Support Forums.”

I’m fairly new to all of this, so I’ve kinda played by ear. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Mr Salek

  • Well, the message says it cannot find the database called “mrsalek_blog” – so that one line in your wp-config.php file is not correct!

But that’s what I called my database! Is there anywhere else I could be going wrong?

Edit: It says that it’s found it but it can’t connect to it.

Can you access your database with something like phpMyAdmin?

    Who is your host company?
