I’m working on a website for a client and they have four different contact forms throughout the site. Three of the forms are directed to the main office which uses a Gmail address, while the fourth form is directed to the pre-k director who uses a Yahoo address.

The problem is that in the email sent by Caldera the from email is the Gmail address instead the Yahoo one, even though both the from and reply-to emails are set to the Yahoo address for this form.

The admin email for this site isn’t either of these emails. Is it not possible to use different from emails on different forms? I can’t figure out why it seems to default to the Gmail address even though that’s not set as a global from address.

Thanks for using Caldera Forms, we really appreciate it. I’m sorry to hear your emails aren’t working as expected.

Email deliverability is a well-known problem among WordPress form plugins, as you can see here. The ability of Caldera Forms Free and other contact form plugins to send emails is dependent on WordPress’ mailer functionality, which is not terribly reliable across all server configurations.

Personally, I never rely on my WordPress host for sending emails from the form mailer, or the autoresponder processors. The main feature of our paid version of Caldera Forms is to address email deliverability. This is probably the fastest solution to your problem. You can see more information here: https://calderaforms.com/pro/.

Alternatively, you can try the traditional solution to this problem which is to use a third-party service’s API or SMTP servers. We have a tutorial on doing this with Caldera Forms here: https://calderaforms.com/doc/improving-the-reliability-of-emails-sent-through-caldera-forms/.
