Can’t see previews in image library

  • This just happened today, and I’m baffled. I went to upload an image into the library, and I noticed all of the preview images in the library are blank; they just have a question mark in the middle. (They were fine a few hours earlier.) I tried uploading an image into a test post (only the outline of the image with the question mark in the center was inserted). Once the post was published, the image appeared properly on my site, so it’s definitely not an issue of images not being uploaded.

    Does anyone have an idea of how to get the previews to work?

    This isn’t a fix for the above; I don’t know why that situation fixed itself, but I got up this morning and the image gallery thumbnails were perfect.

    But then I discovered all the thumbnails on the site were now missing. It was a permissions issue. The permissions were changed, allowing “group” full access. When “write” was unchecked for group, things righted themselves.

    I don’t know if both are related, but I thought I’d pass on what we discovered.
