• I have re-FTP’ed all my WP files onto my host to resolve this problem, but it stopped working. So, the host server should have all “new” files. Not sure what’s causing this.

Also, my editor stops doing “visual” mode. I know this is an old error, yet I see no recent resolutions for this via Google. What gives?

Thanks! I hope this is something minor. Kind of surprised to be getting random errors, as I assumed WP was a very mature product by now.

  • Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

And please do not post the same question more than once…

    Thanks for your reply, esmi.

I am on 3.1.2 (Can’t run 3.2 on my host)
Is not running 3.2 a big mistake?
Is it worth the time to get a new host?

Also, are you saying 20/10 theme is buggy?

Should I explicitly install the 20/11 theme,
or does this only work with 3.2 ?

Is not running 3.2 a big mistake?

It increases the risk of your site being hacked significantly.

Is it worth the time to get a new host?

In my opinion – absolutely. Most decent hosts should be offering packages that support WordPress 3.2

are you saying 20/10 theme is buggy

No. I initially missed the fact that you were still running 3.1.2. I should have typed “Twenty Ten” – not “Twenty Eleven”. You should not run Twenty Eleven unless you have WP 3.2

    Thanks, esmi.

    I am hosting on 1&1 so I can’t upgrade.
You cannot update because WordPress 3.2.1 requires PHP version 5.2.4 or higher. You are running version 4.4.9.

    Time to ditch 1&1 ?

Also, I noticed it’s the WP Latex plug-in that is causing my error. When I deactivate it, I can again see my posting list. This wasn’t happening yesterday. Thoughts?

    I am hosting on 1&1 so I can’t upgrade.

Yes, you can. 1&1 offers both MySQL 5 and PHP 5.

    This wasn’t happening yesterday.

Did you update the plugin? It may only work with PHP 5.

Nevermind, I updated to php5, and now I am upgrading to 3.2.1 !
    I’ll keep you posted.

Thanks. Do you work for WP, or are you a volunteer?
If the latter, how do I send you a gift?

Do you work for WP, or are you a volunteer?

    Everyone here is a volunteer.

If the latter, how do I send you a gift?

Pass the favour on. Perhaps you can help someone who has only just started to use WordPress.

Damn, the upgrade fails. When I go to my URL, I just a blank screen.

Ok, I am up and running.
I had to mess with renaming the 20/10 vs. 20/11 theme.

    I am now on WP 3.2.1, PHP5, and theme=20/11.

Also, I re-activited the Latex plug-in and I can still see my posts!

    Thanks so much esmi.
    WOO! Now back to writing.
Can you post a link to your blog?
