• Hi there,

Google have indexed 7 pages of mine, but i cant find myself in the google search results…no keywords, no domain, no phrases nothing. Only results for pinterest ect show up.

Does anybody know if there is any setting that i have missed that could be causing this. (Robots is ok)

    Thanks for any help!!

  • You could try using an SEO plugin to help you out. Keep in mind that showing up in search engines takes time and patience. It is not something that happens over night or even in months for new sites. Create a webmasters account with Google as well as submit some site maps.

Ensure that you have the “Discourage search engines from indexing this site” option unchecked (Settings->Reading).

    thanks Justin,

I have the yoast plugin and have submitted my site maps and i will head over to my settings to check the reading tab.

However, your advice on the time span i think may be the answer, the sitemaps were indexed only 4 days ago..do you think this is the issue. I just dont want to sit and do nothing and wait for 3 months only to find out i hadnt done something lol.

Also, yoast states my keyword density is too low on one of my pages…..heck if i put my phrase in anymore times, the google bots will def be looking with their spam goggles on.

    Thanks again for you help

SEO is an art bit not rocket science. Just remember to be clear and descriptive in title, use proper headings and you will start gaining traction with Google.

Although it can take a while to show up in search results, you will see some hope in about a week or two. The more popular your links are the higher they will rank. The webmaster tools is very helpful. Right now you seemed to be concerned with organic traffic but you may want to start looking into paid placement as well.

    Hi justin,
Thank you for your help, do you mean pay per click? I have adsense and was just experimenting. This is my 2nd site after failing the 1st (keyword research) learn by mistakes, it maybe that i come across something that i havnt done on this one!

However, going by your advice ref. title, tags & desc, i think im on my way but hey, we’ll see. So its good ive got indexed then at least. That wasnt the case for the last one. But ive spent a while reading & stydying ( sorry about the spelling! been up all night!)

Im really enjoying it, especially now ive found here

Don’t do pay per click, that will get you blacklisted completely. I’m pretty sure he is referring to promoted search results, for example google first page bids: https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/2472742
