    Hi,
I can’t find the “ThirstyAffiliates” item in my dashboard menu, but it shows in some other sites of mine, seems the problem is because of some conflicts with other plugins.
I can only type url to access the dashboard of ThirstyAffiliates, so it still works but it don’t appear in the menu on the left of my wordpress dashboard.
What can I do to make it shows on dashboard menu?

  • Hi @philip2041,

Are you using standard WP or multisite?

If the menu item is not showing that is definitely a plugin or theme conflict.

Would you be able to try the following?

    1. Deactivate all plugins other than ThirstyAffiliates
    2. Switch them back to a default theme like TwentySeventeen
    3. If the problem goes away, reactivate the theme
    4. If it wasn’t the theme it will be a plugin conflict, try re-activating plugins one by one until you find the culprit.

Let me know how you go!

    Thanks @jkohlbach,
I’m using standard wp not multisites.
The method you said is a little difficult to do, as my site has tens of plugins, I can’t deactivate all of them, but I agree with you that the problem is because of a plugin conflict. Your plugin itself is not bad, it works well in other sites of mine.
And I still have a question: Does your plugin modify the robot.txt file? Do I still need to add text to robot.txt file in an effort to disallow bot access to the folder for redirecting affiliate links?

    Hey @philip2041,

Hmm, I understand. Can be tricky when its a big site.

    Two options:

    1. You might be able to get away with spot checking a single plugin at a time.
    2. Create a staging site

To answer your last question, yes we now alter robots.txt to prevent crawling. We’re also actively filtering bot clicks too.
