cant see images in visual mode

Have you tried:

– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

– switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

hi there, thanks for replying. ok, so i dont have any plugins. i started off with twentyten and switched to see if it rectified the problem. I just tried it with Twenty Ten again, and others, but same problem. very odd!

Try re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

hi, i deleted all the wordpress files, downloaded a fresh version and uploaded it minus the wp-content folder. when i refreshed my dashboard it then said i was missing some files and asked me to enter my database details, which i did, clicked proceed and then nothing, just a session timed out notification in the browser. i tried a few times and the end result was always the same.

my wordpress has been installed via an application offered with my web hosting, it uploads fine and then prompts me to update to the latest version, which i do. ive done this three or four times now and its always the same outcome with no images in the visual tab, just the html in white (i only noticed it was there by mistakedly double clicking in the box which highlighted it).

Anyway… oh what to do!?

Try adding define('CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS', false ); to the bottom of your wp-config.php file (just before the require_once line).

hi there! sorry for the very late response, was on holiday! ok, so i did as you said and still no joy. im going spare over this now! ha. im very grateful for your help. to recap, upon opening a new post, it opens up in visual mode, with a seemingly a blank content area, but if you highlight the content area reveals <br />
…click onto html mode, and click back to visual mode and the
<br /> is shown in black. if i upload/insert any images in visual mode it just shows the html…
