• Hi,

I just changed the domain name on one of my sites and for some reason, every image link is showing the old URL in the link.

I went into Settings > General and changed every URL from the old one to the new one and I went to Media but there seems no place to put a base URL. Can someone point me in the right direction as to where the base URL would be for the images so I can get them working again?

    Thanks!

Oh sorry, the live link is

    5rracehorsecf.org

    Thanks!

when you migrate to a new domain name, you should install the search and replace plugin, and use that to replace in your databate every occurance of your former url: for example…

    if you site was

    https://www.oldsite.com

    and it is now

    https://www.newsite.org

then use that plugin to change the GUID and Content of your database files by searching for https://www.oldsite.com and replacing with https://www.newsite.org.

however note that if you set up your new site by exporting a WP backup with WP tools and importing that backup into a new WP installation at your new site, you are not going to get your images transfered, because the WP backup used in tools only exports text.

When moving to a new site you need to backup your entire old site (if you can do this) and load that to the new server and have the technicians there restore it.

If you are moving your blog from www.remarpro.com, however, that cannot be done, and you have to reupload all the images (what a pain).
