Thanks for reaching out and providing additional context. When you add a Google Analytics 4 property via Tag Manager (following the plugin website guidelines) your Google Analytics 4 property will be added via Google Tag Manager. This newly created GA4 property will not be available in the list of available properties within the Site Kit Analytics module setup as this list only shows Universal Type Analytics properties (with a UA- prefix). Providing you have an existing Universal Type property you can select this on that same screen you highlighted, so you have both a Universal Type property and a GA4 type property existing on your site.

If you wish you can connect both if you wish from analytics.google.com. As more users migrate to Google analytics 4 we will be providing further support within Site Kit. Feel free to subscribe to the below GitHub issue in relation to this:
    https://github.com/google/site-kit-wp/issues/2220

Let me know if you have any further questions on this. I’m also happy to check your setup if you wish, or you can use https://tagassistant.google.com to check whether your GA4 or Universal type properties are firing.

    Thank yo.

I don’t need to connect the old tag. What should I choose in the dropdown then? Or should I disconnect analytics for now in Site Kit?

If you want to view the Analytics dashboards within Site Kit you’ll need to have a Universal Type property on your site, which can be selected in the dropdown (or you can create a new one).

If you’re happy to use Google Analytics 4 only then yes, you can disconnect the Analytics module from Site Kit if you wish. Your Google Analytics 4 property snippet will still exist on your site if you’ve implemented it via Google Tag Manager following the website instructions. You can then view your Analytics data over at analytics.google.com.

Note that once we have full support for Google Analytics 4 within Site Kit you’ll be then able to view your GA4 data within the Site Kit dashboards.
