I have a website and using wordpress blog arungupta.co.in/blog
I tried to update the blog but it failed in between, when i refreshed the blog it was showing “Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance. Check back in a minute.” so i searched for some solution and as suggested i deleted .maintenance file from the folder.

after that i can’t access anything . blog is blank .

    can anyone suggest something please!!!

  • Have you tried to access home after disabling all plugins?

    Try:
    – switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and the wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    – running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php

thanx esmi … your suggestion worked. but i think .. there is no need for saving “.htaccess” file. specially for mine case. i removed every file except wp-content folder.
