Thanks for reaching out! Can you provide a little more information? And a link to you project?

Are you able to set the widget up on the widgets screen in your Dashboard (Appearance > Widgets)? If you are, does the widget appear in your site’s sidebar on the front end?

Oh, I forgot a link but here it is ?? https://www.ekohyllan.nu/ar-ekologiskt-alltid-bra/

Yes, it looks like the widget works in my dashboard and I can se the titel (“Senaste kommentarer”) but not the comments in the sidebar on my blog.

Is there some known issues with some plugins that I don’t know about?

    Picture of the dashboard:

It seems that I cannot link to the image of the dashboard…

It appears it’s not pulling any comments.

What are your settings for the widget? Do you have a specific post type selected?

To test, add the default Recent Comments widget to your sidebar and see if comments appear.

    Hi,

Settings is set to “All”, but under the title “Post Type” I can only chose from the following choices: All, Media, Page and Testimonial. Shouldn’t there also be the choise: Post?

I have now added the Recent comments widget and named it “Senaste kommentarer – 2” and I can see my comments with this widget.

As a novice I have also tested to switch between the choices HTML5 and XHTML but it didn’t work either.

    All the best

The plugin will only list post types that support comments. For some reason, it seems something is preventing the plugin from recognizing posts as supporting comments. I’d recommend turning off other plugins to see if something is causing a conflict.

Okay, thanks for your reply. I’ll do that.

    Hi,

I found that the plugin CRUDLab Disable Comments was the one that couses the problem.

Good deal. Were you able to get it all set?

    Hi,

    No unfortunately I did not.

Do you have comment blocking enabled? If so, that’s what’s causing the issue. If you’re blocking comments for posts using the CRUDLab plugin, then comments won’t show using this plugin.

    (@lagerstedt)

Yes, that’s what I noticed. See my comment above ??

Right, so I’m going to close this thread, since you know the source of the issue. In order to display comments, you have to enable comments for posts through that other plugin, or disable that other plugin.

Thank you so much for your reply! I appreciated it.
