Can’t see access roles in menu setup

Hi,

Can you show me a screenshot of what you are seeing? If you aren’t seeing any roles, you possibly have a conflict. And you would need to disable other plugins (and switch to a default theme) one at a time to discern which is the source of the conflict.

If you are looking for particular levels that aren’t appearing it is probably because they aren’t global WP roles, which is becoming more common for Membership type plugins. You can check this section of the FAQ: it is possible to extend NMR to include these roles, but you have to write some of your own logic… here’s an example for NMR + WooCommerce Memberships.

I’m not seeing the roles show up at all

For some more context, I’ve been following this guide, and I don’t see what he sees. Everything was done the exact same as in the guide

The roles only appear if you select “Logged In Users” as you can’t have a role if you aren’t logged in. have you tried selecting “Logged in users”?

Yes I see it if I select Logged In Users, but why then in the guide that I posted (https://www.codeinwp.com/blog/build-a-membership-site-on-wordpress/#disqus_thread) is he able to see them when selecting “everyone”?

His screenshot must pre-date the changes in Nav Menu Roles. After hearing some feedback from users, I decided it made more sense this new way.

Hi, I also have an issue.

For navigation menu items that already existed the user roles selection option is displayed with the selected options. But when trying to create a new menu item the option for user roles does not show up when “Logged in Users” is selected.

Note: we have only default WP roles.

This seems to have happened after we updated to WP5.2 although I can’t be certain that’s the case.

@gpatters it is better to create your own topic. But, before you do, are you sure you are using Nav Menu Roles? NMR’s setting is a “Display Mode” with radio button options… not a select/dropdown input. Please see this screenshot:

On rechecking – yes, I have a conflict with another plugin. Drat! I would like functionality from both but it seems I will have to do without one or the other…:-(

@gpatters Please see the FAQ. This is a known limitation of WordPress core, but the other plugin can add compatibility by following the steps outlined in the FAQ.

Thanks htv, that’s very good info. I went with the tiny-plugin approach and now I have the functionality of both plugins.
