Hey, I can’t seem to search my eshop for products by tags with Relevanssi.

I followed the instructions and enabled post and product post type and product_tag taxonomy in the indexing tab of the Relevanssi settings. I’m using Hello Child theme, ePro’s search form widget and WooCommerce tags.

I couldn’t find anything related to the topic on here or on the knowledge base except for the article about searching slugs. I also tried debugging and still no go. Please help.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Does searching with the Relevanssi admin search (Dashboard > Admin search) work?

What output do you get for a product on the Relevanssi Debugging tab?

@msaari thanks for such a prompt reply. Admin Search gives the following result: “Found a total of 0 posts, showing posts 1–0.”

The search form returns: “It seems we can’t find what you’re looking for.” But when Relevanssi is deactivated it shows products that have that search term either in the title or in description.

The debugging tab spits nothing or “Nothing found for post ID 1632” when I search for product ID 1632, but when I search for blog posts it shows the post title and content but not tags.

Ok, so Relevanssi has indexed nothing for the product. You’ve set Relevanssi to index products? You have rebuilt the index after adjusting the indexing settings? What if you set Relevanssi to only index products, and no blog posts at all?

Yes Relevanssi was set to index post and product post types as well as the product_tag taxonomy. I changed it to only have “product” as post type and product_tag taxonomy but it didn’t do anything. I also changed custom fields to “all” and disabled “Expand shortcodes when indexing”.

Cleared caches and tried private/incognito modes and different browsers/devices.

What does the indexing say when you index only products? Does the indexer find the correct number of products, does it process through all of them, how many posts does the state of the index say you have indexed once it’s done?

I can’t see what’s happening on your site, so you need to tell me, otherwise I can’t help.

This is a Relevanssi indexing issue, anything on your browser won’t affect this. It’s all happening in your web server.

@msaari thanks again, here’s what it says:

    State of the index
    1 document in the index.
    136 terms in the index.
3718 is the lowest post ID indexed. (3700s are blogposts, and all products have lower ids)

Here’s the screenshot of the indexing tab settings: https://www.screencast.com/t/Tm8S3WuUiGQ

As you can see, only one post is indexed. Can you please show me a screenshot of the indexing output when you index the products?

    (@ilyasmussin)

Sorry, forgot to update the index by clicking on that build the index option! It now says:

    State of the index
    46 documents in the index.
    2288 terms in the index.
1384 is the lowest post ID indexed.

Admin search returns: “Found a total of 17 posts, showing posts 1–17” which is correct! BUT the search form results brings no product and no “nothing found message” either. I disabled the search results template and it fixed it! Are there any compatibility issues with the ePro search results template? I’m using archive products widget..

    (@ilyasmussin)

DONE!!! I’ve used the products widget (query > current query) *AND* the archive widget together and now it’s working! Thanks so much man you’re the best!! I’ve been asking all these questions across 3 different elementor groups and people had no idea!!!
