    Using Version 8.3.2.

I’m unable to save the Settings > Website page. Trying to toggle different checkbox options under “Blog Posts and Pages”. The save fails with the message “Invalid RSS image:” at the top. There is no RSS image setting that I could see anywhere on the Website settings page.

    Page data validation error.

It’s in the feeds > Podcast Artwork menu.

The error stays when I save. On the PowerPress > Settings > Feeds > Podcast Artwork tab, I removed all the settings and unchecked everything and save. The error remains when I save.

My image links are to S3 host images and are PNG files. The RSS2 hint suggests perhaps it should be a JPEG?

Even when I remove it, the save succeeds but the error still displays.

PNG should work. Try uploading it using the uploader in the artwork area. Instead of S3 and putting in a link. maybe there is a bug?

Can you give me the link to the artwork?

I uploaded the graphic in the RSS2 Image field. It still reports the Invalid RSS Image error.

I tried uploading it for the “Apple Podcast Artwork” field as well and checked “Also use as RSS image”. It still shows the error on save and the check to use as an RSS image did not save.

This is an S3 hosted version of the file: https://thinkingelixir-podcast.s3.amazonaws.com/thinking-elixir-podcast-graphic_3000px.png

Thank you for looking at this.

    Hi @brainlid,

While the image dimensions and overall file size are fine for your file, the resolution (dpi) is set very high, and that may be part of the problem. Change the dpi to 72, and if possible, export to JPG. While podcast artwork can be PNG or JPG, JPG just seems to work better overall. Replace the current artwork in your PowerPress settings with this newer version of the file.

    Hello @shawnogordo,

I created an alternative 450px 72dpi JPEG image. You can see it here: https://thinkingelixir.com/wp-content/uploads/powerpress/podcast-graphic-450px-973.jpg

I used the graphic in the RSS2 Image. I selected it and on save it succeeds without error. Hitting save again with no changes now show the error of “Invalid RSS Image:”.

Is the RSS2 Image the one it’s talking about? Should I be changing a different one?

The RSS2 image needs to be the same as the Apple image. 1400px x 1400px (or up to 3000px) Under 1/2mb (500kb) in file size.

Just to test it, I removed all the settings on the Feeds > Podcast Artwork settings page. I removed the image urls and unchecked the options. It saves, but it still shows the “Invalid RSS Image:” flash message at the top. Hitting save repeatedly with no changes shows the message every time as well.

To test further, I checked editing the Podcast Channels > Podcast (default) > Feeds > Podcast Artwork settings and ensured they were blank. When I save that page it still shows the same “Invalid RSS Image:” flash message at the top. It displays on the Podcast Channels list page.

I don’t know what it is actually referring to.

I am having the same problem currently. Exact same.

    Same issue

Just noticed I had an update wanting to be installed from two days ago but fyi that didnt solve the problem.

Also – most things do save even with the error. Where I cannot get it to save is when I try to uncheck “Display Play in new Window Link” and “Display Download Link”.

@bbbassetttt I see the same thing. That’s when I first noticed the issue.

Updating to 8.3.3 fixed this issue. Thanks!
