can't save text widget with script tags

  • Why can’t I save the text widget if I use the <script>…</script> tag? I’m trying to insert an Amazon widget on my sidebar using the text widget and it won’t let me save. The gray circle icon just spins forever. If I remove the <script> tag or rename it to <scriptz> for example it saves fine almost instantly.

    Hey,

    I’ve had the same problem for years. This only happens to me when I’m using the network at my work. I believe they have some sort of security issues with script language. I don’t know if that’s right, but it never happens to me at home with the same sites and widget content.

    P.S. Let me know if you figure out a workaround. I’ll do the same.

    in it to save. Haven’t had this problem before. I just tried on my mobile phone instead of my work network, so it doesn’t seem to be related to work security.
