can’t save posts

i was hacked a week or two ago by someone exploiting the wp-forum plugin … I completely deleted the plugin, changed pw on account, upgraded to 2.3.3 …

now I can’t save posts — get a quick “done” response from the browser and a completely empty screen — makes me think of a permission or password issue

but — I *can* activate and deactivate plugins, change themes, etc., so it appears I can read and write the database

I think the problem occurred shortly after I changed passwords on my hosting account — but I can’t remember that there is anywhere in /wordpress that relies on the hosting account password

any ideas? troubleshooting tips?
