Is it possible that mod_security rules might be causing an issue?

If you have mod_security enabled, it’s highly likely that it’s breaking WordPress ??

as a test, try disabling it.

    Why is that?

/cmd.exe?/c(+blah+blah) would probably be recognized as an attempt at directory traversal if used in a URL. Perhaps the hosts mod_security rules and configuration (assuming it’s even enabled) is preventing those words (or strings): “/cmd” and “/c” from being passed in a post command. Is that even possible? Or should I take off my tinfoil hat on this one? ??

because every time I’ve tried to install mod_security on my server, it breaks either drupal or wordpress.

So, it’s a 30 second test to see if it’s breaking your site. Why not give it a try?

Haha!! A total misunderstanding on my part!!!

it’s highly likely that it’s breaking WordPress

I could have SWORN that actually said highly unlikely when I read it. AND I quoted it to boot, but still misread it! Yikes.. I’m an idiot.

I agree with you completely! Sorry about that!
