Can’t save first event

Hello. I wanted to try out Elegant Calendar Lite as a replacement for GigPress. I could not, however, publish my first gig. I added a location, an organizer and an event type (not sure if I needed these), but nothing happens when I push “publish”. The “save draft” button is gray (it doesn’t seem to do anything, either) and the “publish” button is gold. Neither seem to work.

This is a good looking interface, hopefully the problem I’m having is minor.
