Can't run installation script

  • I have gone through the steps of the 5-Minute Installation guide but step 6 (running the installation guide) does not work for me. I have edited the config file and renamed it before saving. Then I upload everything through FileZilla and opened wp-admin/install.php. But all I get is an error message which says:

    PHP is not running. WordPress requires that your web server is running PHP. Your server does not have PHP, or PHP is turned off.

  • Where are you trying to do this install? Does it meet the requirements for installing WP (i.e. is PHP running)?

    As @wpyogi mentioned and asked :

    1. I’d check the hosting requirements with your host.

    And

    2. Who is your host? It’s very rare that PHP wouldn’t be running on your web server. If you’re not looking to switch hosts, you can ask them to configure your server so it can run WordPress.
