didn’t fix anything. i’m just going to restore my backup from saturday which hopefully was BEFORE i updated wordpress. if not i’ll have to save my wp-content files and folder, re-install wordpress 3.3.2 and then overwrite that content file with mine.

i seriously don’t know what else to do.

Ok I’m back to wordpress 3.3.1. I wasn’t having this problem before but now I still am. What can I do?

Assuming you mean the files in the wp-admin & wp-includes folders, they should all be 644 and the folders should be 755. All standard and nothing unusual.

even when all plugins are deactivated i still have the issue.

When you re-uploaded those new folder copies, did you delete the originals first?

yes. there ended up being a php error with the wordpress update that was installed on my website so i had to restore a different backup. everything is working ok now, i’m just not upgrading to 3.3.2

When you update again, try first:
– switching to the Twenty Eleven theme.
– deactivating all plugins

And of course making a database backup.

I don’t think i’m going to update again and risk it. If i do though i’ll keep that in mind. thanks!

I would advise you to update. The latest version includes patches for 3 known security issues.

i don’t want to risk having the same problem again. i’ll just update all my security stuff that i have.
