• I was using WIX to create my website. Everything went along beautifully, and I was very pleased with the end result. Then I tried publishing it – only to discover it did not support RSS. In other words, no one would find my site without a password!

HOW can I find a template that will give me the same results I got with WIX? I don’t have time to experiment!

  • You’re in luck. WordPress supports RSS beautifully.

The best way to get started is to click through the WordPress.com tutorial here: learn.wordpress.com.

It was designed to help you learn everything you need to know about running your site on WordPress and getting it up and running as quickly as possible.

Step 5: “Pick a theme” is what you are looking for specifically. But I recommend going through the steps listed to get the most out of your site.

it did not support RSS. In other words, no one would find my site without a password!

Can you explain what you mean? You can use rss feeds to promote your site or embed it elsewhere but a password isn’t required to “find” a WIX site.
FYI: the link Jack gave is for wordpress.com (hosted sites) and this forum supports wp.org (self-hosted sites).

Yes, I did. But I would still recommend using that to get your bearings with WordPress.
