My blog is Rudy’s Blog at https://www.rudyrucker.com/blog/
I’ve been maintaining it for a number of years, repeatedly tweaking the ancient Kubrick theme. Recently I started seeing a big white space between my post titles and the post text. I’m guessing something about WordPress changed, as I don’t think I made code changes to cause this. I’ve searched the forums and none of the suggested code snippets for the Custom CSS window seem to do the job. Any ideas?

  • Hi @rudyrucker,

It looks okay to me, am I missing something?

Thanks, Tim. I admit it’s not HUGE problem, but I’d like that gap to be a bit narrower. Here’s how it looks on my Windows machine in Chrome.

I see the same gap in Eduge on Windows. But there’s no gap using Chrome on Android phone.

    Hi @rudyrucker,

Got it, I hadn’t seen that as I looked on Chrome (Windows).

I just checked Edge on my Windows machine and it’s okay there too?

Have you fully cleared your browsers’ cache?

Hi Tim, as I said, to me, that’s a bit too much white space. And I was wondering if I can tweak that. Thanks for your input.

I figured it out. I have the AddToAny plug-in that displays social-share buttons at the top. And something is filtering them out, as if they’re ads. So you see a white space. And I don’t see the white space on my phone because Chome on the phone doesn’t filter as strongly.

I set my AdBlock browser extension to pause on my blog page, but something is still filtering out the social buttons, so to hell with it. I just set the AddToAny settings to only show the buttons only at the end of the post….I still don’ts see them on my desktop, but maybe others will, and I don’t see the annoying gap.

Ah, nice one @rudyrucker! That would explain why your gaps were looking different to mine…

Sorry that I couldn’t be of more help, but I’m glad you got it sorted.

    Kind Regards,
    Tim
