Hi, we’ve been using your plugin for some time, how long? well we’re running Version 8.38.1 ??

We have not used it’s functionality for many years and we are going to switch it out for a static page so there are several less plugins.

However, when we try to remove the main connections plugin it crashes wordpress. Enable it and it’s fine, disable, nothing works.

Any idea what could be causing this.

    thanks, great product

Sorry to hear you are having trouble!

Connections does not make any permanent changes to WP, so the crash indicates something else on the the site has been modified to depend on Connections.

    Items to check.

    • Make sure any Connections add-ons (extensions/templates) are deactivated first if you have any installed. Add-ons should be non-functional and not cause errors, but this is a good precaution.
    • Do you have the Code Snippets plugin installed? If you do, do you have any code snippets activated that utilize Connections’ code? If you do, deactivate those code snippets.
    • Similarly to code snippets, check your theme’s functions.php file and ensure no code related to Connections has been added to it.
    • After you have done the above and deactivate Connections and still experience the crash immediately check your sites PHP error log. It is very likely an error has been logged. This error should help narrow where to look.

I hope this helps; please let me know.
