Can’t remove last item,

Trying to remove the last item in the side cart does not remove the item from the side cart panel, it remains visible, but is it actually removed from woocommerce cart (ie. if you navigate to /cart/, it is empty).

There are no console errors (only the ‘updated’ console.log message)

The ajax response for removing the last item returns fragments: null
/?wc-ajax=xoo_wsc_update_item_quantity

..however removing other items before this (ie. not the last one) does return a full response (included below).

We’re on WP 5.8.3 & WC 5.8.0.

Any ideas what may cause this issue?
