We’ve removed this plugin completely but the hotjar javscript tag is still present in the <head> section and causing page loading issues we’d like to resolve. There’s no mention of it in the header.php file of the theme. There’s no code in the Theme Options section for integrating tracking an so forth.

I did a site-wide search via cPanel’s File Manager for the word “hotjar” and the plugin was the only place it found.

However, no matter what I do, I can’t get rid of the javascript tag summoning it. It’s like a ghost tag that’s being side-loaded somehow.

    Please advise.

    Hi

Since the plugin is not active, it can’t be coming from the plugin.

One source where the HotJar code still could be coming from is cache. Make sure to clear all cache that you use for the website.

Also I noticed you use Google Tag Manager. HotJar could be still active in there. If it’s not the cache it’s very likely in Google Tag Manager.

I’m closing the request since the plugin can’t do what you’re describing while it is not active and the source of the problem must be somewhere else.

    Regards
    Aleksandar
