  • Hi there,

I’m not sure I fully understand what your are doing and your setup. Can you please let us know the exact steps to reproduce the scenario?

We’ll be happy to assist if you can give us a little more information. ??

    Best regards,

Under the OPtions Tab ‘Post-Hack’ is a submenue called ‘reset plugins’
but if i select a plugin to ‘reinstall/ reset’ it.
i just get an message on the top side of the page which says:

    ‘Installationpackage not availible’

    ‘back to plugin-installation’
    (translated from german)

and the plugin, which was selected is sucessfully uninstalled, and gone
    Oo

I had this problem too. Twice in a row, actually. The plugins are wiped instead of being reinstalled.

I’ve confirmed this problem on several different WordPress installs. My WordPress installs are all in Spanish. Maybe this has something to do with it?

Could it be a mod_Security problem?

I have encountered the same issue on multiple sites.

Perhaps the plugin should check to see if the package is available (Sucuri plugin can reach the remote repository) before removing the plugin. Or at least have a warning that the plugin you want to reset may not be downloaded where you check the “I understand that this operation can not be reverted” box.

If I find some error log that helps, I will post it here.

What the hell?!! It’s removed the plugins rather than reinstalling them!!!!

Having the same issue, very annoying as it used to work!

Ouch, this is a pretty catastrophic bug which did more damage than the hack I was cleaning up. Hooray for backups.

    This is still unsolved ?

It never worked for me BTW.

All issues related to the “Reset Plugins” were fixed with commit #2377a4c [1]. The tool will now generate a backup of the existing plugin(s) before the download of a fresh copy of the plugin(s) from the official WordPress repositories. If the process fails in any of the subsequent steps of the installation the code will revert the backup to its original location. The database will not be touched during the reinstallation of any of the plugins, which means that all the configuration will remain as is.
