Can't read text in the side bar widgets because of the header image

I like the side bar and using the header image, I tried to lower the opacity of the image to make the text more visible but it is still not clear in certain spots. My image has many colors and just changing the color of the text isn’t doing the trick.
Maybe if I can add an outer glow to the text to make it stand out? Any suggestions from using an image along with text in the side bar?
