• Hi out there

After building THIS wp-site in my test environment and everything is fine for the start(very basic) i moved (copied) the whole site (HERE. On the new location, the dashboard is no longer reachable, it comes up with the following failure:

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /kunden/438251_8001/web/3216430/A3216430/hofer-liestal.ch/hptec/wp-config.php:1) in /kunden/438251_8001/web/3216430/A3216430/hofer-liestal.ch/hptec/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 1207

What i have done so far:

First of all, i followed this guide for the site transfer. siteurl and home therefore is changed in the wp_options table. In addition i had to edit the database access info in the wp-config.php due to restrictions on the new location.

Now, the site runs smooth on the new location but give the mentioned failer when trying to access the dashboard.

I tried with disabling all plugins as described here: no change.
I switched to the default theme as mentioned here. since i have no access to the dashboard i changed the entries “template” and “stylesheet” in the wp_options table, the default theme showed up, but no change in the behaviour regarding the dashboard.
Since i can’t reach the dashboard i couldn’t run better search replace as planned. So i did following procedure: Backed up the database on the old location, ran serach/replace on the old location, exported the database from the old location and imported it on the new location, restored the database from backup for the old location. No change in behaviour.
Oh…and i checked the mentioned files for blanks before and after the php-tag…nothing.
Finally, i have to mention that i use a custom prefix (ncwp_) for the database. I really don’t know if this maybe causing the trouble…

I’m quite sure there must be something quite obvious (hopefully) but since i’m new with wp …..

    Any help is appreciated
    Greetings

In the meantime i tried some more things:

Switched to the default theme on the old location (dashboard is working) and again perform the wohle site movement process. Again, the site itself is working on the new location but the dashboard fails with all the same message:

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /kunden/438251_8001/web/3216430/A3216430/hofer-liestal.ch/hptec/wp-config.php:1) in /kunden/438251_8001/web/3216430/A3216430/hofer-liestal.ch/hptec/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 1207

Then, i deactivated all plugins by renaming the plugins folder. The plugins disappeared as expected, but the failure still shows up when trying to enter the dashboard.

Since all changes on the site itself showed up immediately and i alway use CTRL-F5 for refreshing (even if php is server-side ^^) it has obviously nothing to do with caching….

    Is there any possible solution?

    Any help is highly appreciated

In the meantime…..and even if i talk to myself ^^…
I built a new instance (completely new installation) of the prebuilt site in another subdomain on the new location.

This new instance just runs smooth. Got some issues with images and permissions which could be sorted out. So, i will rely on this “copy” when it comes to set up the site on its TLD and ban all memories of this broken thing out of my mind.

In fact, that means the problem (dashboard isn’t reachable) couldn’t be solved. However, just as an info if someone by accident slips into this thread:

Since my last instance on the same server as the broke one is running smooth i checked all the file- and folderpermissions (that was the cause with the image issue) and also the .htaccess file: seems to be all the same. Weird but obsolete now anyway…..
