There was a problem with single page purges on Cloudflare yesterday.

However, even though the issue is marked as resolved, I still can’t purge single pages from the plugin or Cloudflare.

I know this is not a plugin issue, but do you have any ideas on how to solve the issue? I haven’t tried a full purge as yet as I don’t want to rebuild the entire cache unless it’s absolutely necessary.

  • @bobsled ,

This morning I also still have the same issue (noticed it yesterday already)… impossible to purge single pages and I had to purge the whole cache which is pretty annoying

    Thanks @bluisier

At least I know it’s not just me. Btw, did your full purge work okay?

Hopefully, Cloudflare will take some action.

Well, I have no idea what to say. maybe they are still working on a fix to resolve the issue?

    Yes, hopefully, @isaumya

But I don’t see an incident report on the Cloudflare Status page as yet.

    Patience required, I suppose. ??

    @bobsled

Yeah the full purge worked okay… better than nothing ??

    Thanks for confirming, @bluisier

    Good to know.

I forgot to ask you, @bluisier

Does the single page purge work for you now after doing a full purge?

@bobsled nope it’s still not working right now

    Thanks, @bluisier

I guess all we can do is wait for Cloudflare to recognize the problem. I can’t find a way to notify Cloudflare directly of the issue other than to post on the Cloudflare Community forum, which I did earlier.

I’m getting very strange behavior today, @isaumya

I still can’t purge a page. And even if I set a post to Bypass the cache for this page, it is still showing the old version.

But I am now seeing pages listed as cached in the plugin’s list of cached pages returning a MISS. I checked about 25 pages, and around 15 returned a MISS. But some pages that are showing HIT, often have a cache age of less than 500 seconds, while others are correct between 300000 to 450000 seconds.

Is everything working for you, or is it just me suffering from Cloudflare gremlins?

Can you click on “disable cache” and enable cache again in the plugin settings?

    Thread Starter bobsled

    (@bobsled)

I’m testing on my smaller site. I have clicked disable cache and enabled again and all pages have preloaded fine. I also tried Purge Everything earlier. I will only be able to check if the cache “sticks” by waiting 24 hours or so I suppose.

But I just tried to purge a page, and still no luck. The same with bypass cache for a page.

And also, I did a few more checks, and on my larger site, it looks like 100s of pages are now not cached.

It really hasn’t been my day today. ??

If you have any ideas, I’m all ears!

Just for your info, @isaumya here’s what I’m seeing for lots of pages now on my main site.

Even though WPCSPC shows a page as cached, it’s a MISS on Cloudflare. The problem only started yesterday.

    Hi @bobsled,
I get your question now. That is if that page is cached then why showing MISS right? Well to know the answer to that you need to take a deep drive to understand how Cloudflare caching works. Look at this part of this article: https://acnam.com/untold-truths-of-cloudflare-cdn/#cloudflare-cache-creation-replication-storage

If you can, read the whole article which will give you a proper understanding of how Cloudflare works.

    Thanks @isaumya

Yes, that explains the MISS issue clearly for me.

So now I just have the one issue left to resolve. I still can’t custom purge a single page on either of my sites. Also, new comments aren’t published, so it’s a problem.

I have tried disabling and purging the whole cache, but no luck.

The problem started when Cloudflare had an issue a couple of days ago. But I can’t see any users on the Cloudflare forum mentioning the problem now.

Do you have any ideas as to what I can try to do to resolve it?
