Started after update to V5.9.8.1, I think. If we edit a recurring event, we can never get it out of Draft mode.

Sequence to create problem: Go to Recurring Events. Edit.

Click Publish, status remains as draft. No ‘Published’ status shows in Status dropdown.

Doesn’t seem to happen on single events, only recurrences. Also doesn’t happen on any other kinds of posts.

If I go in through Quick Edit, I get the option to change status to Published. But as soon as I go back into Recurring Events/Edit, the status goes back to Draft.

Can you try the latest EM Dev version 5.9.8.2 and see if this makes any difference?

I think I figured out why this was happening. There was a database issue caused by user error — if the recurring event is created with a time setting that doesn’t make sense with the date setting (like accidentally putting in 2 am instead of 2 pm) there is a database error that is not reported to the user but causes the publish update to fail. If the date/time is fixed, the problem goes away.

I would have replied to you sooner, but I did not receive the follow-up reply by email even though I have it checked. ???
