• Went to post tonight and hen I hit PUBLISH the area you write in becomes, uhh, non-editable. Doesn’t publish, just turns the box solid with other areas under it. If I hit PUBLISH again, nothing happens. On the 3rd attempt, the text box goes blank and only the title remains.

Thinking it was a blip, I typed a new post. BAM! Same thing happens.

So now I have 2 drafts which I can edit but won’t publish.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins (yes, all) to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s). Don’t forget the ones in mu-plugins if you have that folder. If you can’t get into your admin dashboard, try resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

I only have a few plugins but will deactivate all, see if it helps, then add back as you suggest. Thank you!

I can get into the dashboard. The theme is the same one I’ve been using but I think I did an upgrade since my last post, so the plugin angle seems to fit. But if that doesn’t pan out, I’ll change themes.

If that doesn’t work, I’ll be back! Will post either way.

Deactivated all plugins and could post. One by one I activated. The very last one is the culprit. After The Deadline is what I used as a proofreader.

So… any suggestions for a spell checker? I use 3.2.2
