• I just did an install of a recently nightly of 1.2 and cannot post, even using the admin account. I get:
    Database error: [Can’t create/write to file ‘/root/tmp/#sql_6571_0.MYI’ (Errcode: 13)]
    SELECT DISTINCT * FROM wp_posts WHERE 1=1 AND post_date_gmt <= ‘2004-05-21 17:31:59’ AND (post_status = “publish”) GROUP BY wp_posts.ID ORDER BY post_date DESC LIMIT 20
    making /root/tmp world writable didn’t help, nor did changing ownership of this directory so that it was owned by the apace user.
    This is using 1.2-epsilon-RC1
    HELP!

  • Thanks for posting the solution here.

    Worked for me too ! My MDK8.2 lacked the my.cnf file (in /etc or elsewhere), I just created it and restarted mysqld and presto.

    Thanks for this solution. I am using Mandrake 9.2 and also was missing the my.cnf file. I couldn’t get it to work by creating it from scratch. I found out that there are sample config files in /usr/share/mysql. I copied the my-medium.cnf file and made the edit you’ve recommended here. Restarted the DB and it works. Thanks a lot!

    I don’t see a detailed solution here. Can someone help me out? I’m getting this error, I think, you can see for yourself at https://www.efdisaster.com

    let me clarify a little, this is a new problem, everything was working fine for a few months and this just popped up overnight and I’m using wp 1.5.2
